We’re sending help soon...

I’m having a lot of trouble using Crystal Clear Essentials.

The current version of Crystal Clear Essentials is 1.0.7.

To determine your version of Crystal Clear Essentials:  click the Windows Start button, All Programs, Crystal Clear Essentials, Release Notes.  The current version will be displayed at the top of the Release Notes document.  *Note:  If Release Notes is unavailable you are using a version prior to version 1.0.3.

What is the current version of Crystal Clear Essentials?  How do I find out what version I am using?

There are several possible solutions for this issue. Please follow each solution in turn to resolve the issue.

1.  Password entered incorrectly.

Crystal Clear Essentials is designed to remember your user name and password for each ACT! session so you do not have to continually re-enter the security information.  Close ACT! and restart to continue using Crystal Clear Essentials.

2.  Your password contains invalid characters.

Remove any spaces or punctuation (including #, $, %, etc) from your password.

3.  The ACT! OLEDB Provider has not been configured on the workstation.

Use the ACT8DIAG tool to repair the OLE/DB Objects for the database.  Close ACT!Click Start, Run and type "ACT8DIAG" - click OK.  Click OK to the disclaimer.  On the left slider bar click the “Databases” bar.  Click to select the database in question, then click Actions, Database Rebuild, Rebuild OLE/DB Objects.  Click Yes to the confirmation message.  When the process is finished a completion dialog will be displayed.

For a remote ACT! database

Open the ACT8DIAG tool as described above.  Select Databases, Database Settings (enter YES to the warning message), Select your database in the Database: drop down, Select “Enable OLE/DB Reporting” in the Configuration: drop down, Enter a “1” in the Value box and click Apply.

You can also use this tool to install the ACT! OLEDB Provider:

Click to download the ACT! 2006 OLEDB Installer

Download the file to your workstation, and then double-click the file to begin the ACT! 2006 OLEDB Provider installation.

I receive an error message after clicking OK at the Crystal Clear Essentials log-in screen.
